Most CRM vendors don't expand their services because you asked for it. They do it because their core product hit a ceiling.

The press release frames it as innovation. What it actually means: they're building out a broader tech services practice, which is consultant-speak for "we want more of your budget across more parts of your business."

That matters if you're already locked into their ecosystem. More services under one roof sounds efficient until you realize it also means more dependencies, more contracts, and more reasons they can justify a larger retainer. You've been down that road with consultancies before.

If your CRM already fits how you work and scales when you need it to, an award means nothing to your pipeline. If it doesn't, adding ecommerce and app dev from the same vendor won't fix the foundation.

A shiny award from an AI committee doesn't tell you whether the software will still fight you on Tuesday morning when a deal is closing and you can't pull the right data fast enough.
